Cosmetic Injectable Treatments
Anti-wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections are administered using a drug called Botulinum Toxin A. Botulinum Toxin A is a muscle relaxant that acts upon the junction between the nerves and the muscles, thus prohibiting the contraction of the specific muscle being treated.
In approximately 4 days and up to 2 weeks post treatment the muscle will have relaxed and the skin that is draped over the muscle is also immobile thus giving the appearance of tight, smooth skin and no more wrinkles.
Treatment can last around 3 to 4 months, as the treatment effects are temporary and re-treatment is necessary to maintain results.
The most common treatment areas for anti-wrinkle injections are frown, forehead, crows feet and masseters. It can also be used to treat excessive sweating.
Dermal Filler
Dermal filler is a gel that contains Hyaluronic Acid that is injected into the skin to replace volume loss, smooth lines and correct the effects of ageing by sculpting and contouring the face. Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule found throughout our skin, connective tissue, joints and eyes and is there to provide support and hydration to the tissue. It is a water soluble molecule, therefore it draws all the water to it to plump and hydrate, restoring elasticity in the skin.
Dermal filler can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months depending on the area being treated, as well as the individuals natural metabolic process to break down the molecule. Instantly you will be able to see a difference, however what you see will be inclusive of swelling. After 2 weeks time, the swelling has subsided and the product has begun to integrate into the tissue, and the results will be less dramatic.
The most common treatment areas for dermal filler are lips, cheeks, chin, jawline and tear trough.
Fat Dissolving Injections
This treatment uses fat-dissolving injections called deoxycholic acid to permanently dissolve the submental fat cells under the chin, jawline and neck areas. The type of acid used is a compound which is found naturally in the body. Once the targeted fat cells are injected and eliminated from the body, they can no longer be stored there and fat tissue under the chin is visibly reduced.
The injectable prescription medicine used in the fat dissolving treatment is TGA-approved and has been clinically proven to permanently dissolve fat cells.
Sculptra
Sculptra contains a substance called PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid). Sculptra is injected deep under your skin, where the PLLA works with your body to stimulate and revitalise the natural collagen production. As collagen production is stimulated, the skin starts to regain it's structure and volume, meaning wrinkles and fine lines are gradually corrected.
Results are seen up to 25 months after the initial treatment. When it comes to Sculptra results are gradual, this means the changes are subtle, and usually aren't apparent immediately after the first treatment.
